GIVEAWAY!!!

Since it's Christmas... and I'm tired of baking cakes, and I learned that Wendy's doesn't open until 10:30!!! {what in the world?! I had to go home frosty-less and sad!} and since 'tis more blessed to give than to receive, and since I love y'all, I decided to be like the other big, bad, fancy-schmancy blogs and have a merry little GIVEAWAY! Hip, hip, hooray! Maybe you will be the winner of my most favoritest kitchen gadget ever! Except you won't be getting mine, you'll be the proud owner of a brand spanking new one fresh from Kohl's! Hear ye, hear ye! The most splendidforous 2 cup measure on the planet! No more laborious bending over at the waist to see if you've poured just the right amount of buttermilk for red velvet cake! A simple glance from above does the job!

The rules for the giveaway are as follows:

1. Please answer this question with a comment - "What did your Christmas dinner menu consist of?" Did you stay traditional, or stray away? Have McD's? Or steak, or seafood? Did you cook Southern Living's festive spread recipe by recipe? I love food, and I wanna know! :)

2. Your comment counts as your entry to the giveaway.

3. One comment per person, please!

4. Giveaway will be open for entries for 2 weeks since this is such a busy time and some of you may nary have a chance or remember to peak at this ole blog, and I don't want anyone to feel left out! So any comment left before January 7, 2013 midnight will be counted.

5. To make this as even as I know how since I don't have a giveaway selector thingy, or know how to download, or use one! I am going to be old-fashioned and print off every single comment, cut them in even-sized strips, put 'em in a hat, and have Daniel draw out the winner! If the winner should be one of my dear local readers, I will bestow the measure upon you in person! If not, I will contact you for your address and send it to you via Pony Express! {I mean USPS priority mail.}

P.S. If you send me some of your favorite Christmas candy, cookies, or sweets of any kind, it will count as 2 entries!! .............................................Just joking!

HAVE A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

  1. Hello from Yuma! Oh, my! Ours was absolutely delicious! Tiffany did a honey glazed spiral ham, Pioneer Woman Cream Cheese mashed potatoes (Not sure the exact name), green beans, lettuce salad, fluff, deviled eggs and hawaiian rolls with pies of the following flavors... Peanut Butter, Chocolate, Apple, and Pecan! Needless to say we could hardly waddle away from the table! I did just get back to my lovely RV (Jeff's borrowed it from his boss... It's large and nice!) from a mile walk, so maybe that will help a little! Hope you had a lovely day! Merry Christmas!

  2. Grilled Beef Tenderloin, Gourmet Potatoes, Steamed Broccoli, That Really Good Salad, Green Beans & Cheese (someone forgot that we were already having TWO vegetables!!!), Graham Cracker Fluff, butterhorns, Cheesecake Factory Cheesecake (your choice of Cherry or Caramel Topping)...the Tenderloin was delish, btw!
    & I think that was all? It seemed like more; we couldn't really fit it all on our plates!

  3. We were with Danl's family... had baked chicken, mashed taters & milk gravy, green bean casserole, cooked corn, lettuce salad, dinner rolls, baked apples, graham cracker fluff and layered jello!!! :) Twas delish! We skipped dessert and ate Christmas candies all afternoon... :) We took a walk after lunch... I even jogged a ways (only to save myself from getting soaked by the rain!) After my jog I felt justified to eat caramel popcorn til my jaws hurt! LOL! Fun, fun day!!!

  4. Welll let's see.... We had a very late breakfast of biscuits and gravy! And then an early Christmas supper. Had wings wings and more wings! And were they ever good! Sweet Chile, Hot, BBQ, and Lemon Pepper! And to go with the wings we had some kind of veggie casserole with stuffing in it, broiled (fried) dill pickles, home made French fries, and layered jello. Was scrummy! We skipped dessert too. And had all the candies and cookies sitting out. As far as exercise (since everyone else is putting that in) it was snow boarding in the morning, clearing a rink on the lake in the afternoon, and taking a walk on the lake in the evening!

  9. Hi from MS!! Guess I better get to writing so I can have a chance too! We were with Blakes folks at Mize for Christmas...mom-in-laws sis and their whole family came too! It was so fun as Aunt Di can be so hilarious sometimes!! Ok...for the menu...lets see if I can remember all the yummies we had...Dad did a delicious smoked turkey(as good as always!), smashed potatoes, gravy , green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole, raspberry salad, saurkraut , pluma mose, and fresh butterhorns fresh from the oven! And guess what! She uses your grandmas recipe out of Friends & Family! So you know they must be good!!! We did like alot of you others and had Christmas goodies for dessert and to snack on for rest day and evening! Everything was so good! Only thing is that the weather was bad that day with chance of tornados ...so we all were sorta nervous bout it for traveling home yet that night! (it all turned out ok and we made it home safe!) Hope you have a happy new year and hope to see you sometime in MS!!!;-)
