Gaga for Grapefruit!

Did you know that 2023 is the Year of the Grapefruit?? If you didn’t, that’s perfectly OK because choosing a fruit every year/summer is just a personal fun thing that I’ve been doing for 7 years now! I’ve gone through watermelon, lemon, strawberry, banana, peach, green apple, and now grapefruit. And grapefruit items have been gushing into my life! It’s been the “zest” year yet! Some of the following fruity items I’ve purchased myself, because I had to, you know; they fit the theme and begged to belong to me! Others have been birthday “zestings.”

And while out and about I enjoyed a bee pollen and grapefruit kombucha!

Currently chilling in my fridge just waiting for me to try is a pink pomelo paloma sparkling energy drink!

While on the grapefruit food topic; I cannot not proclaim about the delectable grapefruit curd cheesecake and creamy grapefruit ice cream I’ve been privileged to savor!

OK, I’ve typed the word grapefruit so many times now that it’s starting to look funny like I’ve misspelled it! 

Most likely I’ve missed mentioning some items, but that’s all I can think of at the moment! And who knows what I’ll acquire in the remaining months of 2023! But when the year ends and grapefruit is going, going, gone - I’ll be Awestruck for Avocado! #2024 #FOTY

6 Things Making Me Smile

Every week, Gretchen Rubin writes a newsletter called “5 Things Making Me Happy.” So this blog post is my spin on that! But of course since I love even numbers and feel blessed, I’m going with “6 Things Making Me Smile!”

1. The BIG bag of 30 little prezzies from Tara! One to open each day of my Birthday Month! Yay! 

2. Anne stopping by with an unexpected loaf of sourdough porridge bread. Bread wasn’t referenced as the epitome of life for no reason. 

3. Reading Little House in the Big Woods to Danielle.

 

4. Soaking in my first Bella Grace magazine which was an early birthday delight from Jill! 

5. Thee most delectable slice of apricot tart delivered to my door yesterday by Tina. On a china plate adorned with a sprig of thyme and an orange snapdragon blossom. Need I say more?!

6. Book Club. It’s the best. I highly recommend the novel we just discussed over dinner at Gwen’s, in the candlelight surrounded by magnolias.
