Fabulous Fieldtrip!

Last Friday, we had a fab field trip! The cannon BOOMED at Fort Gaines!

The old-timey blacksmith made a nail, an S hook, and a horse-shaped horseshoe!
{which he generously bestowed upon our class!}

On the ferry ride, the sun shone, the water sparkled, and the good times rolled!

The birthday cake oreos don't have anything to do with the field trip. I bought some at Walmart the other day, and they make me so happy! Just thought I'd share. Yay for sprinkles!

writing

Here I am again. At last. Not being able to write as often as I would like to discourages me. Because I find that the less I write, the less I feel like writing, and the less I seem to have to write about even though my life is filled to the brim and running over! There's too much to cover, so I don't know where to even begin. I won't ponder of this predicament for long. Rather, I'll just say a few things and disappear again for a space!

I ran out of gas for the first time this past week! Not fun! I'm so thankful I have a knight in shining armor that could come to my rescue!

This same valiant knight also bought, planted, and surprised me with a gorgeous red knock-out rosebush!!! I can't help but fall in love. Again....and again!

I discovered this! Haiku Love! http://haiku.nytimes.com/#top

Meeting a good friend for frozen yogurt and yakking is the best therapy for stress-reduction....

I was too ill to get an allergy shot this week; rather I got more pills to take and a prescription for antibiotics. Ugh.

The loveliest bouquet of double petunias gifted to me from a student made my day!

Diesel might have cancer.... hopefully Monday will bring only good news from the lab. Please sigh a prayer.

I need more self-denial and discipline in my life. More goals need to be attained.

I also need to be easier on myself; not beat myself up for not being SuperWoman.

Life is complicated, but also simple. But only if we let it be!

here comes the bride!

We are so super pleased and excited that my bro Anthony will be marrying his sweetheart,
Katelyn Jane Miller, on June 23!!!

She is the sweetest chick, hopefully she'll be able to bear with us. :) We all love her to pieces already. Especially Anthony. lol

I've also signed my contract to continue in the schoolmarm business next year. Only 10 kiddos and 2 grades though. Yay!!!

Lest I get fragmented to bits as in the quote below, I filed an extension for our income taxes. First time for everything I guess! But, taxes just WEREN'T happening.

“I suppose the more you have to do, the more you learn to organize and concentrate—or else get fragmented into bits." - Rumer Godden

It will be a busy, but wonderful summer.

The End.
{for now. I just got home from being at school the last 13 hours.}

the big RE!

Life RE-newed, energy RE-charged, spirit RE-vitalized, soul RE-deemed!
Happy Belated Easter, everyone!

We finally made it to Blue Pond on Friday to spend the weekend blissfully camping! Although, "blissful" was not the word you would use to describe our day before we arrived! We had intended to borrow our neighbors' camper until it was discovered that its only key was in North Dakota. Time for Plan B! Down to Sears we scrambled, since Danl had had ENOUGH of tent-camping in our small tent that he can't stand up in! Once at Sears, it soon became apparent that we would have to come up with Plan C as ALL their computers had crashed and they would not in any way or form, sell us a tent! Danl thought Plan C should entail turning around and heading back home! But we decided to continue on to Defuniack camperless and tentless! We could sleep under the stars! After supper, Mr. E. decided we should have a home for the weekend, so Mom and I made a Walmart run and we were blessed with a wonderful tent that Danl could happily stand clear up and stretch out in! Thanks again!!!
We spent Saturday and part of Sunday RE-laxing, basking, stuffing our faces, kayaking, fishing, nooking, and looking for snakes and bass. The rain clouds gathered around noon on Easter Day, so we gathered our gear and said goodbye!
Then it was time for some more RE's....RE-pack belongings back in their places, RE-wash everything, RE-heat hamburger patties! :)
And today I need to tackle the most important RE of all!
16 RE-port cards!

How was your Easter? Some of you I know partook in the wedding festivities at Walnut Hill. I'd love to hear all about it! BTW, what's your favorite Easter candy?...
Hands down, mine is REese Peanut Butter Eggs!

{I think I'll go REach in the candy bowl for one right now...}
